Certification Programs and Trade Schools are Better than College and Universities
Do you want to be successful? Do you want a job that only pays the bare minimum? Would you like a job that doesn’t believe in pay raises? Of course, you would answer yes to the first question and no to the last two. Many people go to college, believing it will be their ticket to a better life and for a minority of people that’s true. People tell you to go into STEM, but not only is it difficult for some, there is no guarantee with a STEM degree. I have a degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, that you will get a decent paying job. I have seen STEM jobs that want you to have a post doc, with ten years of experience while they pay you $35,000 a year.
Then there are useless majors and classes you are forced to take, No one will tell you that your major will not get you a job. Also, many companies do not consider volunteering or working in the lab as experience, and they all want experience.
In my opinion, colleges and universities are way over-rated and are not the best way to make a living, even if you may earn more money after 4 years of university, 4 years of medical school, then fellowship and residency to become a doctor. It can take up to and beyond 12 total years. Do you want to spend most of your time working and under stress?
Next is trade schools. This is far better than college or university, but the problem is not everyone can do trades. Well, there are some you may be able to do. It doesn’t take as long to make money, and you will not owe as much if anything. You learn on the job in many cases. The only real problem with trades is that you need to do your homework and make sure you are going to a certified, valid trade school. Then again this is true if you do any type of further education. Many trades programs pay far better than most college majors and you are far better able to get a job.
In my opinion the best way to get an education and you will make roughly the same as in the trades, and many times this is even quicker certification programs. Mostly in health care and dentistry will you make money. You can volunteer at a dental clinic as you get your education and unlike colleges and university this will count as experience. You will be shocked how much you can make and how quick these programs are. Programs working in pulmonary (lungs) and cardiac (heart) pay well. You can try diagnostic sonography or anything. Healthcare tends to have the most job openings as well as office management, which is usually requires you to attend college, but it is still better than most majors. Medical and dental front office is great. Also, when you are finished with your day you realize your job matters and you helped people.
Certification programs and Trade Schools are far better than going to college or university. How many people with a college degree do you know actually make money? You do not want to get stuck working a job that you cannot leave and make less than a person that works at McDonald’s because your state raised the minimum wage to what you make but you do not get pay increases. Yes, there are jobs like this so as with anything please be careful on the jobs you take. Now your worth. If you enjoyed this please read more of my articles.
